Re: Beer and Cheese
Fri, November 3, 2006 - 9:41 AMHey my cheesehead sister! (I say that in the most loving way possible) I grew up in Indiana, and I drank a good deal of Leinenkugels back in college, but since I've moved to CA, you can't get it here. I have also heard of New Glarus, they are the stars of the WI micro scene. You still can't buy their beer out west, but I did get to try a couple of their fruit beers at the Great American Beer Fest in Denver last month, and they were DELICIOUS.
You can get beer&cheese soup in a few places, but it's not common. Californians like to think that they make cheese just as good as Wisconsin's, so a few places do it.

Re: Beer and Cheese
Wed, November 15, 2006 - 11:18 AMToday, I had some really nice Morel and Leek Cheese with fresh baked bread and a nice tall glass of Pearl Street Pale Ale.
I think i like the taste of cheese with beer more than cheese with wine. but to hell with wine and here's to - BEER!
Can't wait to have smoked gouda with a smoked porter! -

Re: Beer and Cheese
Thu, November 23, 2006 - 8:19 AMSmoked Gouda I've found works well with a tall glass of chocolate stout or porter. If you can find a bacon cheddar (such as Cabot cheese from Vermont) that is WONDERFUL with Guinness or a cream ale.

Sat, November 25, 2006 - 9:13 AMI went to Gustavus, so hell yeah! Bring on the cheese and beer! New Glarus...the name's ringing a bell...but cant remember what I've had. Leinies...oh, lord, I drank a lot of that in college. We had furniture constructed of empty cases! -

Re: Beer and Cheese
Tue, November 28, 2006 - 12:38 PMYes the cases are excellent coffee tables huh? Lienenkugels is definetly the beer of choice for college cheese heads! Pabst Blue Ribbon is also considered the refined full-flavored beer of all the shitty ass beer here as well.
Thanks for the Responses everyone! this is fun!
