So I just tried Dogfish Head's Pumpkin Spice Ale, which I found....well...not at all pumpkiny or spicy. It was okay, just not quite the beer-meets-pumpkin-pie experience I was hoping for. Anyone out there try any others with better results?

Thu, December 15, 2005 - 10:23 AMIf you live in northern California, you might be able to find Buffalo Bill's Brewing's Pumpkin Ale in sixers in better booze stores. It's made in Hayward. I haven't tried it but I've heard good things. The packaging is black with a big orange pumpkin design on it. -

Wed, October 11, 2006 - 10:54 PMThe Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin ale is not all that great. I found it to be thin, lacking in balance. If it had more malt to work with the pumpkin spice perhaps it would be good. The Shipyard Pumpkin ale is not to bad though i find that that style is not my preference.

Mon, November 19, 2007 - 3:45 PMcost plus world market distributes Buffalo Bill's, and it is pretty good. I can see Alaska being better, though--I've had some Alaska Ales, I'll have to see if I can find that one!
The one to AVOID: Blue Moon. Their white ale is okay [but not as good since I found out it is made by a macro brewery], but their Pumpkin is Blech. -
